INCONTINENCE PRO
Incontinence Pro . This is our very first program that writes a Progress Report for you. You and your client fill out a Voiding Symptom Scale, rank progress along several symptom dimensions, add client age, history and Insurance / Medicare Coverage Number. This is automatically included in the Physiology Report. The results of Pelvic/Abdominal Muscle Training is also written up. The program includes a cleaver artificial intelligence module that quantifies success at Squeezing-Holding, and Release Instructions. The results are included in the printed report in paragraphs noting the percent success over a session and across sessions. Want more? The Biofeedback screen is super-simple - just two EMG graphs. Each 10 minute Task is either full relaxation or a Squeeze-Release Task. Instructions are provided from a built-in audio tract in English. What could be easier? See Software for details

J&J is proud to announce the publication of Incontinence Pro. This is an application unlike anything J&J has offered before. It has the same sEMG signals as our other software, but that is where the similarity ends.
Incontinence Pro was written for the professional who needs both an excellent assement and tratment package, but also needs to submi reports documenting SYMPTOM CHANGE, HOEWORK ASSIGNMENTS and PATIENT EDUCATION.
Incontinence Pro was written in close collaboration with several experts in the field, and field tested with nursing students and assistants. It can easily be used by a licensed health professional.
The reports are generated from computerized checklists and include key statements of how well the patient performed on each squeeze-release task. Thes reports are medical-ready. Just add your name, professional designation, and office address for the header, and the report is automatically printed out, ready for third-party review.
What could be easier?

Like our other programs, Incontinence Pro includes a built-in impedance check and signal verification mode.
Visual feedback is simple and straight-forward. A voice provides the instructions for a task. Then a Task begins with a signal to 'squeeze' and another to 'relax.'
Incontinence Pro starts everyone with a symptom checklist and a 4 minute Muscle Test: Relaxation, Rapid Flicks, 3-second Holds, 10 Second holds, Continuous Holds and optional longer hold tasks.
The computer automatically generates a report indicating success at an exercise. The 'squeeze' performance is rated on a scale form 0 to 100% for the ability to keep the squeeze when asked to. The Release component is also rated as the percent of trials where the client successfully relaxed when asked to.
Ther are two levels of Report:
1. A Visual review of the Session ment to be viewed by you and the client.
2. A printed report with your name, header, patient data, patient symptom and rating of progress. And a paragraph about how closely today's performance met the training criteria.
HERE ARE SOME KEY POINTS- WHY CHOOSE J&J:
1. MEDICARE-FRIENDLY! Designed specifically to provide quality Medicare-friendly report, meant to be sent in with every billing. Those that send in reports have fewer problems getting paid.
2. TRAINING GOALS ARE ADJUSTED BY A CLIENT"S PERFORMANCE - A PASS-GO FORWARDS/ FAIL-GO BACK LOOP:
The major question people have is about setting the EMG threshold. Basically it is a no-brainer.
Thresholds are calculated by the program bases on several factors. and seem to depend on the average value of the resting EMG.
Here is the way it was explained in the manual:
"The training gradually shapes the level and duration of the patient's ability to hold a contraction. It
calculates the goal for the patient's contraction from the assessment. The goal is automatically calculated by the
program at a percentage of the average of the “quick” contraction portion of the assessment phase. The
percentage of goal is raised from 30% to 50% to 75%. When the patient can accomplish the highest percentage,
the time of contraction is increased from 3 to 5 seconds. Once she has passed all three percentages at 5 seconds,
the time of contraction is moved to 10 seconds. The program automatically assesses her ability to perform the
contraction successfully. If she passes, she is moved to the next level. If she fails, she can repeat the same
exercise until she passes."
3. INITIAL GOALS ARE BASED ON PERFORMANCE DURING MUSCLE TESTING.
For more detail, see this from the manual:
"Pelvic Floor Muscle EMG Goals
The program automatically utilizes the patient's resting pelvic floor muscle value from the first 30 second Rest
period to calculate the threshold for each subsequent Rest period of the Assessment and Training phases. Prior to
the patient’s first rest period of the assessment, the system presets the resting threshold at 6µV. Abdominal EMG
threshold goals are preset to 4 µV during “Rest and Relax “ and 8µV during ”Contractions”.
A “normal” pelvic floor muscle resting value reading is expected to be less than 2 µv (microvolts). If the
resting threshold is greater than 2 µv, this may indicate one or both of the following:"[spastic muscle or poor electrode contact].
4. MUSCLE TESTING IS STANDARDIZED AND RELIABLE AND IS ONLY 4 MINUTES LONG!
"Electromyographic Assessment. This is a brief assessment of muscle activity, which takes less than four
minutes. The program asks the patient to perform three different types of contractions. Each type of contraction
assesses a different type of muscle fiber in the pelvic floor. This assessment is repeated every session to give a
clear indication of progress.

5. MEDICARE-FRIENDLY REPORTS ARE GENERATED IMMEDIATELY.
There is no need to wait until the end of the day to make a report.
In fact, you are encouraged to print a report for the client before she leaves.
6. HOMEWORK AND/OR EDUCATIONAL MATERIALS ARE STORED IN THE PROGRAM FOR TAKE-HOME REMINDERS.
Up to 20 different homework and educational print outs are available within the program.
There is no need to carry around a file box of different papers for homework or client-education. Just select and print!
KNOWN ISSUES:
1. NO REPORT VIEWER:
Many people complained that they could not see the printed report before printing it.
In other words, there is no pre-print report viewer or editor.
However the solution is simple; add a PDF-print option.
The solution is the free PDF print utility on the last page of the manual.
So with this add-on, you can view and print your reports. You co
1. Print to a PFD file - advantage is you always have a copy in your computer, and you can sent them by email if asked.
2. From the PDF screen you can paper-print to any computer, either in your office or in a nursing home.
2. NO AUDIO FEEDBACK.
Clinical trials indicated some people got confused with the audio EMG sounds.
Why? Because we use a 'BING-Bong' tone to signal Squeeze-Release.
This does mean that visually impaired people may have trouble here. Hover baring complete blindness, many impaired-vision clients can see the lines on the screen well enough for training.
3. WE CAN NOT GUARANTEE REIMBURSEMENT.
You need to qualify as a provider for Medicare or other insurance companies, and follow their rules.
